Starting this July, Colombian and international travelers have a new option to visit one of the country's most stunning natural destinations: Caño Cristales, located in the municipality of La Macarena, in the department of Meta. Clic Air officially launched direct routes from Bogotá (Air Bridge) and Medellín (Olaya Herrera Airport) to La Macarena, with flights available between July and November, coinciding with the ideal season to appreciate the river's vibrant colors.
This new service aims to facilitate access to this iconic site, known as the "river of five colors," thanks to the aquatic plant Macarenia clavigera, which colors the waters with shades of red, green, yellow, blue, and black. The trip begins with a flight to La Macarena, from where you can take a canoe along the Guayabero River to enter the Serranía de La Macarena National Natural Park. During this river trip, you can observe wildlife such as birds, turtles, and monkeys, making the trip a unique ecotourism experience.

Tourist Pool and Cristalitos Sprinkler, ideal for taking photos and cooling off.
Los Ochoes and Los Cuarzos, rock formations and natural pools of crystal-clear waters.
In addition to highlighting the destination's natural beauty, the note emphasizes the importance of responsible and sustainable tourism. To preserve the ecosystem, authorities recommend:
Do not use sunscreen or repellent during the tours (to avoid contaminating the water).
Get vaccinated against yellow fever at least 15 days in advance.
Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing: long-sleeved shirt, cap or hat, sunglasses, waterproof shoes, and a swimsuit.
Follow the guidelines of authorized guides and do not stray from permitted routes.
